April Showers

Every where you go these days the subject is sure to turn to the rain. Trouble is I cannot agree with everyone about the depressing situation because I love the rain, I never have got my fill of rain. Even through the chicken coop is a stinky, muddy mess, the woods are still awesome and so is the yard. I have no trouble getting out to the gardens as everyones says they do, we just go out between showers.

So I will soak in these April rains, when it is hot and sunny everybody else will come out and play and then I will hide inside in the shade.

How in the world did this dandelion seed lodge and sprout in the crack between the wall of the building and the sidewalk in the Tim Horton's drive through window? Amazing!

Purple on the Lawn

The daffodils are nodding goodby but the forsythia continues to hold yellow while the bluebells begin to ring and wild, purple violets bloom freely about the yard.

Spring Beauties erupt from seemingly nowhere, forgotten on the lawn since last April, suddenly they exclaim, "We are Here!" The Rhododendron is purple! Pippen The Cat, well.... he is guilty until proven innocent!

April Walk

The new moon has arrived and so I planted all sorts of forget-me-nots and all the larkspur seeds I could find because these tiny seeds like to be nipped a bit with frost before they cave into sprouting. It is beautiful outside, every day full and pregnant with surprises. The bloodroot was blooming out in the pines and I almost missed it! Already its blooms look tattered and worn.

When Winter Won't Leave

Sometimes life is hard, the world is cold and it is impossible to hold up our heads.

When Winter never seems to want to go away

There are times when life just feels too hard and you want to hide your head under the covers.
